This morning I awoke to this cute face...
sportin' her Minnie Mouse jammies, with her blanket and bear in tow. She was at the foot of our bed, quietly tapping my leg until I noticed her. Sounds pretty normal, huh? Well, it's not! The little turkey has learned how to climb out of her crib!!!!!
It actually happened first last night. She had been in bed for about 10 minutes, when I heard Jason say "Brittney!" in a very surprised voice. I was shocked. My little Brit isn't much of a risk taker. In fact she's a bit of a scardy cat. If she is at all unsure about where her feet will land, she'll ask for help. She's never been a climber. I know a lot of kids climb out of their cribs a lot sooner than 2.5 years old, but I never really though Brittney would. We coaxed her back to bed, told her not to get out, and soon she was asleep. Before I went to bed, I worried and fussed about what she would do if she got out again in the morning and I didn't hear her. So, instead of completely shutting her door and our door like I usually do, I left them open just a little. Good thing I did, because sure enough, she came and woke me up first thing.
I told Jason today that she did it again and that it seems pretty inevitable that it's time for a big girl bed. We need to do it soon anyway, since we will be needing the crib in May. So, I guess this is just the push we needed. I'm just crossing my fingers that it will go smoothly!
